PE Policies

Dress

1.  All students are required to dress out for class each day in their own Physical Education clothes.  Clothes that are worn to school cannot be worn to Physical Education class.

2.  Physical Education attire includes a Chain of Lakes Physical Education uniform with a COL PE t-shirt and black gym shorts (COL PE shirts from previous years and any COL athletics shirts are also permitted. Proceeds from uniform sales go towards future equipment purchases).  Jeans are not permitted.

Purchase of Uniforms

Uniforms will go on sale starting at Open House

Prices are as follows:

$10 for shirt (required)

$15 for shorts (or their own black or grey shorts can be worn)

Sets are $20 or $35 for two

 

3.  Your last name must be clearly marked on the outside of your P.E.  shirt and shorts.

4.  When the weather is cold, students may bring a sweat shirt or warm-up suit.

5.  Only tennis shoes are allowed on the gym floor.

6.  For safety reasons, jewelry should not be worn in P.E. class.

 

Participation

1.  Students are required to participate in class activities every day.

2.  Students cannot participate unless they are dressed out in their P.E. uniform.

3.  If a student needs to be excused from participation:

    A.  A note must be brought from home which contains the nature of the illness and the parent's signature and phone number.

    B.  After three days, a doctor's note is required.

4.  If a student is excused from participation, he or she will have to do an alternate assignment to earn credit for the day.  This may include a written essay or assisting the teacher.

Lockers

1.  Lockers are assigned at the beginning of the year.  Students should always lock up all personal belongings.  The P.E. teachers cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Conduct in Class and in the Locker room

1.  Always be respectful, courteous, and cooperative with the teachers and other classmates.

2.  Noise must be kept to a minimum.  All students are expected to act in an orderly and cooperative manner.

Grading

Grading Scale

A = 90 - 100

B = 80 - 89

C = 70 - 79

D = 60 -69

F = 59 and below
